BRENDA LIPTON - Acting Instructor, Vocal Instructor, Lopez Conservatory Program
Brenda Lipton is very excited to be joining the Lopez staff for the 2011-2012 school year! Brenda previously worked with Lopez Studios, inc. on the summer staff as the acting instructor for Drama Camp for two summers. Brenda began as a dancer at the young age of 2 1/2, but developed her love for acting and the theater during her Elementary school years. She originally hails from New Jersey and is grateful that college has brought her down to the DC area. Brenda is a 2010 graduate of American University where she graduated with a BA in Musical Theater performance and Theater Education. During her stint at American University, Brenda had the opportunity to work with composers to workshop new musicals, including Bernice Bobs Her Hair (Adam Gwon) and 20 to Life (Rob Rokicki and Michael Ruby). She has also worked with Pig Iron Theater Company to develop and perform a new work based on the concept of Physical Theater. One of her greatest achievements of all was being asked to sing the National Anthem at her college graduation. Brenda has also trained and studied at Broadway Dance Center, Stagedoor Manor, and Westminster Choir College but her true passion lies within teaching acting and dance to children.
