JENNIFER KESSLER - Acting Instructor, Vocal Instructor, Lopez Conservatory Program
Jennifer Kessler is thrilled to be starting her seventh year with Lopez Studios, Inc! Jennifer is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Theater. In her six years at Lopez Studios, Inc. Jennifer has been privileged to direct and choreograph numerous shows, including Once On This Island, Jr., Honk! Jr., Seussical Jr., and most recently Godspell, Jr. She has acted as the head of the Lopez Theater program since 2005, and joined the Vocal staff in 2009, as well as directing of the summer Drama Camps since 2006 and Teen Intensive Theater Camps since 2007.
Professionally Jennifer originated the role of Mother in Soul Play's The Power of the Gospel, performed and choreographed for Buckskin Joe Frontier Town and Railway in Canon City, CO, choreographed A Christmas Tale, portrayed Sr. Mary Leo in Nunsense, and worked in Public Relations for Keystone Repertory Theater. Other directing credits: As You Like It, Table Settings, Parallel Lives, White Lies, Corporate Frustration (original) Other choreography credits: The Apple Tree, Scapin (ACTF nominee). Past performance credits: Into the Woods, Twelfth Night, Arms and the Man, The Mill On The Floss, Poof!, Cabaret, Kiss Me Kate, West Side Story Sound Design: The Bee, Third and Oak: The Laundromat, Lone Star!, Laundry and Bourbon, English Made Simple, Miss Julie Makeup Design: Alice in Wonderland the Opera, Wolf Tales.
In her free time Jennifer enjoys reading, cooking and watching movies and anime with her loving husband, Rick, and their adorable cat, Heinzy. She looks forward to a new addition to the family this December as she and Rick expect their first child!
