STUDIO HISTORY
Lopez Studios, Inc. was founded in 1996 by Victor Lopez to offer instruction in the performing arts. Starting with only 2 students as a full time music teacher in both public and private schools, Victor Lopez began offering private instruction in voice and piano after school hours and weekends as well as traveling to homes. While most of his initial enrollment stemmed from students he was teaching in a classroom setting, his philosophy and teaching style grew by word of mouth in the community and thus his private student roster grew as well. After 2 years of teaching students privately after school, his student roster quickly grew from 2 to over 50 students per week with a waiting list of over 25 students. He then began renting out the basements of local churches as well as the basement of his home to accommodate his growing student load. In the fall of 1999, Victor would resign from his teaching position and further pursue development of the studio full time.
In this same year, the studio would hire its first teacher to help accommodate the growing student load as well as transition from a sole propriety to a Corporation. The studio continued to grow in the next year and both Victor and the second teacher had full rosters. The studio had expanded to three separate church locations with an enrollment of almost 100 students. The studio began to offer summer camps, allowing students to continue learning in a group setting with a fun summer twist. In the summer of 2000, Lopez Studios, Inc. would sign for its first lease in Reston, Virginia. In the next two years, the studio would continue to grow to over 200 students with a teaching staff of 5 and an office manager.
Today, Lopez Studios, Inc. has expanded to offer comprehensive programs in Piano, Voice, Theatre, Acting, Yearly Musical Productions and an array of Summer Camps.
