How is Lopez Studios, Inc. different from other Performing Arts Schools?
Lopez Studios, Inc. is a private performing arts school founded on principles that reflect character, integrity, discipline, and service! Our program, unlike most, presents learning music and the arts in a school atmosphere where our instructors follow set guidelines for achievement as established by the school, for each of our programs. This philosophy, we believe, makes expectations clear and ensures our students are getting a quality education no matter who their instructor is! We do not hire independent contractors as instructors! All of our instructors are employees of the school. Also, unlike most local programs, Lopez Studios explores a broad range of musical styles such as classical, jazz, pop, R&B, Contemporary Christian, and gospel to name a few. Not just classical.
What are the qualifications of the instructors?
All of our lead staff members have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in their area of expertise or in the Education Field. We also hire instructors who are completing their degrees in the performing arts field.
Is Lopez Studios, Inc. affiliated with a church or denomination?
No. Lopez Studios, Inc. is not affiliated with any church or denomination, but has a defined Christ-Centered philosophy. We are a privately owned company with special emphasis on Character Development! We do not teach “religion” in our classes. All religious beliefs are welcomed.
What method of piano do you use?
We use the “traditional” approach to learning the piano. This includes learning to read music notes in the beginning stages of study. We do, however, incorporate ear training for a well-rounded program.
Should we purchase a digital keyboard or an acoustic piano for piano lessons?
Either one is fine as long as all digital keyboards are “weighted” and have all 88 keys. Contact our admissions Office for recommendations.
Do you offer programs for adults?
Yes! Adult students are welcomed to take private lessons in piano, voice, or acting.
Can I have instruction at my home or at an off-site location?
Yes! We do offer “Home Travel” instruction, but this is based on availability. There is also an additional charge for “home Travel” lessons.
